I just replaced my wife's cracked iPhone 4 screen with this replacement screen and it's a decent replacement for the $31 price tag. A few things to note:
1) use the iFix It guide for iPhone 4 front display replacement.
2) don't forget to transfer the earpiece screen from your old (cracked) front panel - I did and am too lazy to take it all back apart to redo it.
This screen is definitely lower quality than the original, which is why I gave it only four stars. When you press on the lower black area of the display it contacts the LCD and you can see discoloration happen (like when you press on a LCD screen on a laptop). Aside from that, the LCD display, itself, is noticeably dimmer and not as vibrant as the OEM Apple display.
Other than those two gripes, the display fit perfectly on the phone (no gaps or anything) and my wife is very happy with it for $31. It will do just fine until I buy her an iPhone 4S for Christmas.

The first thing I'll mention is that I've been replacing glass and digitizers on iPhones and iPod Touches for a while now and I've run the gambit of these products. I've probably purchased each one from a new seller every time, so I've never had a seamless experience and I've not yet found the perfect variation of these items. The same case applies here in that after the screen was installed, a small portion of the right side was untouchable so anything over there couldn't be accessed. This meant that it was almost impossible to unlock the screen and type certain letters on the keyboard. I'll chalk that issue up to an isolated defect and I'm sure I could have returned it to the seller with no problems. Instead, I just brought the phone back to Apple and since it was under warranty, they swapped it right there for a new device.
As far as the quality of the product, the reason I say it's not Apple is because like almost every other replacement screen or glass that I've purchased, this one just has that tacky feel to it. When I say tacky, I don't mean it looks cheap...I mean that it almost feels sticky. True Apple OEM glass has a special oleophobic coating on them which gives it that smooth, silky feel. NONE of these replacement screens (at least the ones I've seen) have this coating. But, I did say that it gets the job done, so once you're used to the new feel, this screen is a perfect replacement and fits very well.
The reason for only 3 stars is because I don't like the non-OEM feel to the product and for the price, I'd almost rather just buy the real Apple part.
Installation note: If anyone gives this a low rating because it was "hard to install", don't listen to them. I don't think it's fair to rate something because of how hard it is to install because the word "hard" is subjective. However, this is not for the faint of heart! The iPhone 4 is a very intricate device and has many, many tiny parts in it. One screw up with this installation and your phone could become a fancy paperwight. There are plenty of videos online that walk you step-by-step through this process, so take your time, don't get frustrated and good luck!

Replaced the screen myself using youtube videos. I would recommend carefully labeling and separating the screws since they look similar. If I'm ever replacing the screen for someone, I plan on ordering this one.
